After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives beyond the Academy’s iron gates to begin. But Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri, and she knows he’s out there, somewhere.

Review.

Now did this book throw you all or what? I couldn’t get over how well Mead started and ended this book, so much happened in such a small span of time. SO let’s start at the beginning, Rose’s final test at the academy, it was such a small part of the book but I really enjoyed hearing how Rose kicked ass and left the academy as a legend. Next we finally get to see more of the royal court, yes there were small parts of the court introduced in the third and fourth book but this time we get to see a whole lot more and see how the court works day to day, I also loved meeting Adrian’s parents that were something small that just added another element to the story. But the main part that got all our hearts pumping was the re-introduction of Dimitri, it was something we had been waiting for since the end of blood promise and wow did Mead deliver! Mead has again been able to get her novel to a new intensity which literally left me gasping at the final page and counting down the minutes till I could get my hands on book 6.
