Rose knows it is forbidden to love another guardian. Her best friend, Lissa – the last Dragomir princess – must always come first. Unfortunately, when it comes to gorgeous Dimitri Belikov, some rules are meant to be broken…
Then a strange darkness begins to grow in Rose’s mind, and ghostly shadows warn of a terrible evil drawing nearer to the Academy’s iron gates. The immortal undead are closing in, and they want vengeance for the lives Rose has stolen. In a heart-stopping battle to rival her worst nightmares, Rose will have to choose between life, love, and the two people who matter most… but will her choice mean that only one can survive?
Book 3 in the epic vampire academy series and things have gotten intense! As Rose struggles with the loss of Mason things start to go bad for Rose as she struggles with messages from the dead and the people she loves the most fear for her sanity. Rose is struggling to fit back into her life and society, as she tries to figure out what is going on in her own head her friends try to protect her from living a normal life.
Shadow kissed not only continues with the amazing story of Rose but it also shows the struggle of loss, of not being with the one you love and putting your best friend before yourself. Rose is her most vulnerable in this novel and it breaks my heart seeing characters I love go through so much hardship. Meads ending broke my heart and grounded it to dust, it was one of the saddest endings of a book I have ever read. Just when you think life is going to be hunky-dory for our fav badass warriors Mead throws it into our faces and reminds us not to get our hopes up for any novel! Again book 3 is just a fantastic carry on in the vampire academy series and Mead keeps the magic coming into book 4.
