Rose has serious guy trouble. Her gorgeous tutor, Dimitri, has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason has a huge crush on her, and she keeps getting stuck in her best friend Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian.
Then a nearby Strigoi attack puts St. Vladimir’s on high alert, and the Academy whisks its students away on a mandatory holiday ski trip. But the glittering winter landscape and posh Idaho resort only provide the illusion of safety. When three students run away to strike back against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. Only this time, Rose – and her heart – are in more danger than she ever could have imagined…
Frostbite is such an excellent second novel to this series, there is not boring second book nonsense with this book. We are thrown straight back into the crazy life of Rose Hathaway, and I have such a love-hate feeling for Rose and Dimitri’s relationship. But now there is so much more to this epic romance, with new characters thrown into the mix just to make things interesting. Not only do we get this messy relationship to read about but we also get to meet Rose’s mum and man she is 100% badass! As well as meeting plenty of new characters the set of this novel is a mixture of the academy and a flash royal ski resort. The ski resort is not only an amazing setting for this story but we also get to see more of the royal families and the chaos that follows the royals everywhere. As well as awesome new places to read about Mead throws an epic plot twist at us.
This novel and series is fantastic and leaves us with our hearts broken while also becoming fully invested into the vampire academy story and characters. I love this series because with most series the second novel is always a bit of a deflate after the first book but I didn’t experience this at all with this second book. The novel is just as good as the first one and the series continues with more epicness in book three!
